Ehsaas Program

The Ahsaas program consists of about 134 policies and programs that also have reforms. There are around 34 federal agencies that are playing a role in the implementation of these reforms.

Ehsaas Rashan Program

The former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, launched the Ehsaas Rashan Program. The basic target of this program is to provide underprivileged families with a vivid discount on the basics. It was started in the different districts of Pakistan, but it is fully implemented in the province of Punjab to provide basic life needs.

The government took this important step to provide food to more than 80 lakh families in Punjab. To fulfill this target, it gives a subsidy of around 100 billion rupees to the Punjab government to provide comfort on different grocery items such as wheat flour, sugar, cooking oil, and pulses so that people do not have to face hunger. When people register for the Ehsaas Rashan Program they are provided with a Rashan card. With the use of this card given by the government, they can easily buy the basic needs of life at a discounted rate of 30% to 40%.

Further, poor families can also get cash from 2000 to 4500 according to their resident area. In this way, they can purchase food that does not fall under the program discount. Rashan program registered shopkeepers can also get a discount of 8% on all the purchased food items.

Eligible people for this program are those who earn less than 31000 monthly. Only one person who is registered in the Ehsaas Rashan program with a valid CNIC and mobile number on behalf of the family can get the subsidies on groceries.

Ehsaas Kafalat Program

Pakistan is passing through a very miserable condition. More than 50 percent of people in Pakistan are below the poverty line. To help poor families who are facing difficult times of poverty, inflation, and unemployment, the Ehsas Kafalat Program was started.

The people who are registered in this program can get cash of 3000 PKR per month from the government of Pakistan. The government can transfer the amount of 12000 for three months into the deserving people’s accounts so that they can pay their bills and get basic edibles.

At the time of the pandemic, the condition of people in Pakistan was very pathetic. In such circumstances, the government launched this social protection program to assist people with no income or small businesses.

Deserving people, besides the monthly grant, can also get a loan from the banks at 6% interest. the maximum loan they can demand of 200000 PKR and repay within five years.

To register for the Ehsaas Kafalat Program a valid CNIC card and proof of COVID-19 infection are required. A small businessman has to provide all the documentation of the business having less than 50 employees and a gross annual income of less than $62,000.

You cannot get registered in the Ehsaas Kafalat program without the paperwork and all the evidence required for the program.

There are some recent changes have occurred in the Ahsas Kafalat program like the woman who is the sole earner in the family being granted 16000 PKR in addition to PKR 2000 under the Sasta Petrol and Sasta Diesel plans.

Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship

The government of Pakistan launched the EHSAS Undergraduate Scholarship Program to increase the literacy rate in the country because the progress and prosperity of a nation depend on its literacy rate.

That is why about 50,000 scholarships will be given to the students in this program. Moreover, 2,000 scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students over four years.

According to this program, special students with disabilities and those who come from poor areas will be given priority. It also reserves 50% of the women’s quota for their convenience.

The scholarship not only covers the tuition fee of the student but also provides them with an allowance of 4000 PKR monthly.

The students need to provide their monthly income in order to apply for this program. 70% marks are required for newcomers in the intermediate, and the university student must have a CGPA of 3.2 that is required to apply for the scholarship program.

Ehsaas Amdan Program

The Ehsaas Amdan program is introduced specially for women to empower them in different fields. Women from low-income families can have a good life and achieve their goals with the help of this program without any inconvenience.

The basic goal of this program is to provide helpless women with small loans, cash, and income support so they can earn their daily bread and do something to improve their lives.

Women need to learn any skill. To make them independent, the government formed a team that provided such women with assistants in the form of autorickshaws, buffalos, and goats so they could utilize these assets to run small businesses. Another important thing about this program is that it assists 30% of men, and a 10% quota is also reserved for children and special people with disabilities so that they can have a peaceful life.

Ehsaas Langar

The Ehsaas Langar program was first introduced in Pakistan in 2019 and carried the tagline “koi bhooka na ye.” The main focus of this program is to help the poor, who are victims of poverty and cannot afford it on a daily basis.

To reduce hunger and poverty and give a sigh of relief to the people below the poverty line, this program was launched in the country by the PTI government.

The first Ehsaas Langar Khana was opened on October 7, 2019, in Faizabad, where Prime Minister Imran Khan himself joined the people and approved the quality of the food. Approximately 600 to 800 people satisfied their hunger, which was an enhancement of its success.

The government made it possible for the people to have free food and opened around 1200 langar khanas from all over Pakistan. There was no need for registration because it was open to everyone. You just have to show your identity due to security reasons.

The food in those longer khanas was of such good quality that caretakers of patients, homeless people, and every poor person could eat a free meal from it without any difficulty. People find it reasonable to have access to the langar khana to feed their families with different meals like rice, flour bread, vegetables, lentils, and even meat to satisfy their hunger.
