EOBI Chairman & Others Acquitted In A Corruption Case?
EOBI Chairman & others acquitted in a corruption case. Today a special court of FIA (Federal Investigation Authority) Islamabad has acquitted EOBI chairman Mr. Zaffar Iqbal Gondal and others from a corruption case of Rs:40 billion.
Abdul Qayyum, Iqbal Haider, Abid Hussain, Najamus Saqib, Asif Hayat, and Iqbal Haider these people have been acquitted in an old corruption case of 40 billion rupees.
EOBI chairman & others acquitted in corruption case because the prosecution department failed to provide solid evidence against them. The prosecution department cannot prove this corruption allegation before the court.
In 2012 Supreme Court took suo motu action against the EOBI chairman and others on a TV channel report. This report alleged that the EOBI authority has invested the pensioner funds in a risky property business.
FIA department submitted a report which was published in DAWN news on 26.11.2023 that EOBI management purchased two 4,300cc prados for the personal use of EOBI officers. EOBI management made some investments in the DHA scheme and purchased Crown Plaza Islamabad at double the local market price. These officers purchased two controversial plots in Sukkar and bought seven plots from CDA on behalf of the EOBI department.
FIA also submitted that EOBI management purchased 40 kanals and 16 marlas commercial plots in Lahore city, bought a hotel of four floors plaza in lahore, and also invested in a seven-star hotel in front of Lahore airport.
