The Nadra head of the operations department has sent policy guidelines to all department managers and local head offices across the country, that they must follow to deactivate the deceased’s CNICs. Under the new regulation, documents will be allowed for the purpose of cancelling CNICs.

Any member from the family of a close relative can request this cancellation by presenting a valid National Identity Card or NICOP, the Union Council death certificate, and the burial certificate.
